The company has applied for three patents and has a number of additional patents planned for application shortly.

The initial product under development is a Lead Carbon Battery for Micro Hybrid cars. Micro hybrids (which have a "no idle" function) will increase from their current low levels of market penetration to as many as 34 million batteries per year by 2015, driven by the need for automakers to meet recently mandated emission targets in both the EU and USA by 2015.

The ArcActive Lead Carbon Battery is expected to have a long life and low cost in comparison to competing technologies. These are extremely attractive characteristics in the cost sensitive auto industry.

ArcActive seeks to partner with an appropriate company or companies to help with the development and manufacturing of the ArcActive micro hybrid product.
