The geothermal sector in New Zealand has a pipeline of projects that would suit international infrastructure investors with experience in renewable energy projects.

Geothermal energy, which is considered a renewable energy source, produces about 10 percent of New Zealand's electricity supply and has recently seen a resurgence in New Zealand. 

Most of the country's installed geothermal generating capacity is situated in the Taupo Volcanic Zone, with a small quantity in Northland.
